Random pics

Here are some random pics from last weekend!

Alex has started sitting in his Bumbo seat!

Alex is getting stronger and stronger!

Abigail and Gabrielle came over to hang out while their parents were at a rehearsal dinner on Friday night. They loved holding and playing with Alex!

See You At The Pole

On September 24th Randy took Alex to "See You At The Pole" (SYATP). SYATP is an event that students put together where they meet at their school's flagpole before school to pray for their fellow classmates and their schools. Here is a picture of one of our youth girls with Alex at his first SYATP!!

Alex's first Aggie Game!

Alex went to his first Aggie game on Saturday the 20th. The Aggies played the Miami Hurricane's (which I found very fitting!). It was pretty hot but Alex was great! We tailgated in Spence park before the game with my sister, Julie and brother in law Matt. Julie and I sat on the grass behind the bleachers at the end of the field with Alex and we all watched the game on the big screen. We were in the shade and it was pretty nice. Here are some pics from the day!

One thing Alex did not like was the Prairie View A&M University band. They marched through Spence Park while we were tailgating and stopped on the sidewalk next to our tent playing their drums...LOUDLY.

3 month visit

We had our three month visit with Sara from New Life (the adoption agency). The meeting went well and she gave us the pictures that were taken at the hospital when Alex was one day old. Here are some pics of Alex before we left for New Life! He has such beautiful big eyes!

Surviving Ike!!

Hurricane Ike came through on Friday night and we lost power about 3am. We made a bed in the hallway just in case a window broke or something. Alex slept well and Randy slept well but I could not sleep much at all. All the noises from the storm kept me up all night. Some friends of ours had invited us over in the case that we did lose power so Saturday morning about 10am we packed up and headed to their house for some fun times!! We stayed at their house till Sunday afternoon when our power came back on. My parents, sister, brother in law and brother all came and stayed about a week untill they got their power back. We enjoyed some great food and had friends over to eat and do laundry almost every night. Here are some random pics from the week.

Randy got a really bad case of poison ivy or something when he cut down the tree on Thursday afternoon and so he could not touch Alex for a few days till it all cleared up. He also had to wear long sleeved shirts which just about drove him nuts...since it was a little hot.
My Dad, Randy and Alex passing some time...probably watching sports of somekind!
My Mom and Alex napping on the couch.

Preparing for Ike!!

Hurricane Ike is on his way! We have extra water, batteries, flash lights, ect. We also had a dead tree in our yard. We thought it was best to plan it's fall instead of it falling where it wanted to...so...last night Randy and a friend started cutting it down. By the end of it all about 5 neighbors were helping and ended up just pulling the tree over with manpower while another used the chainsaw! It was quite impressive!! Here is the tree after it came down. Now we just have to get it out of our yard!

Alex is keeping up with the latest on Ike!

Growing!!

We started taking a picture of Alex with this teddy bear at one month then did it again at two months. He is now three months old!! Here are all three pictures! You can see how he has grown and filled out!!

Random

Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks. We have not done much really...just stayed around the house. I started back to work on September 2nd so we are all still adjusting. Alex is staying with a great lady from our church Tuesday-Thursday (although Randy enjoys picking him up early when possible!) Randy is off on Monday's and I am off most Friday's so it is really working out well.

Alex has started to REALLY enjoy watching TV. We never put him in front of the TV but recently he just really seems to find it. He will twist himself in any way he can so that he can see the TV. Here he is "watching TV"!!Alex enjoys wearing only his diaper...and he is enjoying his baths these days!

Football Season Is Here!

We have had a busy weekend. Friday night we went to the Astros game and I forgot my camera. I was so mad but we had a good time and the Astros beat the Cardinals 3-2 in the 9th inning. Alex was a little fussier...I guess he likes the day games better!! We had a great time and can't wait till Alex is older and can really enjoy the games!

Randy and I went to the Aggie football game on Saturday evening and my parents kept Alex for us. (Thanks Nana and Papa!) Although the Aggies lost we still had a great time! Here are some pictures from our day!

Sunday, Alex went to the nursery again and again they said he was fussy. I'm not sure why he is fussy for them because usually he takes a long nap from about 9-12...so ideally he would take a nap in there too! I'm sure he will get better and I will try to not be the mother who checks on her child over and over during the morning. We went out for lunch and he slept the entire time so that was nice! Here is a picture of him before we left for church!

Hope you all had a great weekend aswell.
