Bluebell Fun Run, 5k and 10k

About two weeks ago Randy mentioned I should sign up for the Bluebell 5k. I have never been a runner and haven't even been walking or anything for about a year. I thought he was crazy and I guess I was too because I let him sign me up. We went out in the evening two times this past week and walk/jogged for 3.1 miles just to see how long it was gonna take me. Randy was able to talk a good friend from Magnolia into going and walking/jogging with me. We had a great time and she could have finished much faster but stayed with me. Thanks JoAnna! She even pushed her two girls in a double jogging stroller which was not an easy thing to do since the course was very hilly. I ended up finishing with a time of 43 min and 28 seconds. As you can see, I'm slow! But I was pleased because I just wanted to do it in 45 min or less! I think I'm gonna start really training and do anther one in October!

Randy ran the 10k which started 15 min before the 5k and he passed us near the end. His time was 52 min 17 secs. He has only been running for about a month now so he was pretty pleased with his time too.

Church staff that ran: Garrett (college intern), Randy (youth minister), Renee (childrens interim and preschool minister), and Tanner (media director).

Easter!

Easter is a fun time of year, especially when you have a Nana like my boys have! Nana hid over 50 eggs for the boys to find and find and find again! I think we hid the eggs four times! Nana and Papa may find eggs thrown back in the bushes for weeks!
On your mark, get set, GO!

Easter morning the boys found what the Easter had brought them. Underwear, Monster trucks and candy! The Easter bunny really know how to please! HA!

Easter pictures before church were fun. My boys are silly!
We know that Easter is not all about hunting eggs and getting presents. It is about the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. If you ask Alex he will tell you: Jesus died on a cross and his body was buried in a tomb. Three days later he rose from the grave. We pray that as our children get older they will not only know the story of what Jesus did for us on that cross but that they will have a personal relationship with Jesus.

1st trip to the lake this year!

We took our first trip of the year to the boat! We love going to the boat...at least 3 of us do anyways and the fourth goes because he loves us! We did a little swimming, a little fishing, a little driving and a little riding. The weather was nice but the water was COLD.

Tyler caught a little catfish...he would not take his eyes off of it!
Alex reeled in his first perch. (a nice man fishing in the slip behind us actually caugh it but was nice enough to let Alex come reel it in. I love nice people!)
My parents are Red Raiders and of course my children are being raise to be Aggies (at least we hope they will be Aggies!)
The water was cold...at this point I think we were all numb. The kids didn't seem to mind much!

New Life Picnic

We had a great time at the New Life Picnic this year. It is always great getting to see Alex's birth family and he loves playing with Drew. They ran all over the park and Alex and Tyler were sleeping within 5 minutes of being in the car!
