I got a text message at 6:00am on Thursday January 6th from my sister saying she had had a baby that morning. I was shocked and excited all at the same time because her due date was January 27th. Julie's water broke at around 1am, they got to the hospital around 3am and Jordan was born around 4:30am (without an epidural or doctor). Julie said the only real pain started around 4am. She said it was scary but she would do it all the same again if she knew it would only be 30 minutes of pain. The recovery this time around has been quicker and they were only in the hospital for about 30 hours total. Jordan is doing great and she is the cutest thing!

Christmas part 4 - Chuck E Cheese
We made a trip to Chuck E Cheese to see Amanda and the rest of Alex's birth family. Alex had a blast playing the games and running around. He was not interested in sitting, eating or visiting! Imagine that!! While Randy chased Alex, I enjoyed visiting with everyone! Amanda is doing really well! She is engaged to a man named Phillip and they seem very happy together. Drew is doing well and is excited to have a brother or sister in July! We are excited for Amanda and Phillip and can't wait to meet the little one!
Christmas part 3 - Mimi and Papa Ed's House
We left my parents house the day after Christmas and headed up to see my Mom's side of the family. This was the first Christmas without my Mimi around the house. She had a stroke last May and has not been well since. She spent the holidays in the hospital so everyone took turns going over to see her.

Ski Trip to Crested Butte, Colorado
Randy and I took a trip to Crested Butte, CO with some youth, youth families and college students. There were 50 of us total and we all went on a charter bus!! It was all fun and games till we got to Monarch Pass and the weather was bad and the roads were icy. We ended up having to stop when a van pulling a trailer pulled out and began sliding backwards and sideways off the road. The bus lost momentum and started sliding as well and it was kinda scary. I'm not sure the people in the back even knew what was happening but I had a front row seat to the action and was wishing I didn't. Of course I grabbed my camera to document the fun!
The van pulling the trailer that pulled out in front of our bus! Scary!
We finally made it (after 23 hours) to Crested Butte and the bus got stuck yet again when one of the snow chains broke only about 1 mile from our condos. We ended up getting towed by a front end loader the rest of way.

Day 1 of skiing consisted of getting up early to rent our ski gear (since we missed our appointment the day before after getting in much later than expected)! The snow was fresh and there wasn't hardly any crowd! The skiing was great and we had a great first day!
Day 2 of skiing was great too. We got out on the slopes as soon as they opened. The night before over 14 inches of snow fell!! We had another great day!

That night Randy and I went into the little town of Crested Butte to eat dinner and do some shopping. The town was beautiful with all the snow and lights. We ate at mexican food place and I learned that Colorado mexican food is not like Texas mexican food...but it was still good!
