My cousins, Chance and Reagan, were throwing a ball (that Alex got for Christmas) in the air and trying to keep it in the air by hitting it with the palm of their hand. Alex thought it was soooo funny. I had never heard him laugh like that. He laughed so hard that he started coughing. He was having such a great time...he carried on like this for a good 10 minutes and then was worn out. Here is some video of the laughing.

Christmas Day
Christmas morning we spent at our house opening presents and relaxing with just the three of us. Later in the morning we went to my parents house to open presents and eat lunch. Lots of family was there and we had a great time. Alex got lots of stuff and has more toys than he will ever know what to do with! Here are some pictures from the day!

sweet potato casserole, mac and cheese, green beans, turkey, dressing, gravy,
veggies, and cranberry sauce (the one with whipped cream is actually a dessert, I'm not sure how it got between the veggies and cranberry sauce)
Alex and Randy taking a nap on the couch after lunch. (I think it is funny that Randy has the burp rag/drool rag under his own chin...doesn't he know it is for the baby drool...not the Randy drool!?!)
After lunch we went to fly my cousin, Chance's new airplane. The guys are adjusting something prior to take-off!! Winnie (the dog) is sitting there because Matt (in the white shirt) told her to stay there. She is the best dog I've seen in a long time...my dog would be out in the wood...and gone forever if let loose.

Alex's First Christmas!
Andy and Kristen's Wedding
This past weekend we traveled to Austin for my cousin Andy's wedding. We had a great time. The ceremony was beautiful and the reception was lots of fun! We hope Andy and Kristen have a wonderful time in Hawaii on their honeymoon!!
Rehearsal dinner at The Oasis on Lake Travis!
Adoption Finalization
December 19th will be an important day for Alex forever because it is the day that his adoption was finalized. Alex had to be in our home for at least 6 months before we could finalize his adoption. December 12th marked the six month point and we went to court to finalize everything on December 19th. Family and friends joined us in court for this important day! Another important day for Alex will come in a couple of week when we meet with his birth family for the first time since leaving the hospital. We are excited about the time we will get to spend with them.
Here are some pictures from our day in court! (which only lasted about 15 minutes).

Food!!
Alex has now tried rice cereal, green beans, squash and peas. I think he may not be a fan of peas but the rest he did pretty good with. Here are some pics of his first rice cereal!

Santa Claus
Today we went to see Santa! Alex did great and we didn't have to wait in line at all. Alex enjoyed pulling Santa's beard (and as you can see it is real). I never knew it cost so much to sit in Santa's lap...almost $24 for one 5X7 and four wallets. It was worth it though...you only get one chance to sit in Santa's lap for the first time! After seeing Santa we went to my parents house and took some pictures for our Christmas cards! This will be the first time I have ever done Christmas cards...so I am excited!

Fishing
Some friends of ours from church have a pond in their backyard that is stocked with Catfish. They allowed us to come over on Saturday and fish. We had a great time. We were only there for a few hours and caught 14 keepers! Here are some pictures of our fishing day!!
